Special Thanks
Celebrating Songwriters continues
JEM CD Compilation
Shouting Out a SPECIAL THANKS to these folks who were particularly supportive this year: Larry Carlin whose e-newsletter, Carltones Corner faithfully and factfully reports all note worthy music news in the North Bay www.carltone.com. The Pacific Sun (thanks Matt Kramer) and the Marin Independent Journal for the inkage in support of Celebrating Songwriters. Venues like FARWest Folk Alliance, The Larkspur Cafe Theatre, The Freight and Salvage and Strings. Wildplum Recordings, making it possible for folks like me to record music for folks like you. Please take a moment and send a shot of love to these folks and volunteers for their tireless and sometimes thankless efforts to keep music alive in our community.
Celebrating Songwriters continues
With the staunch support of the Larkspur Cafe Theatre I have been hosting Celebrating Songwriters for 8 months now. The show is the SECOND TUESDAY (that is Tuesday number 2) of every month. The wonderful thing about this series is the variety. Every month features two songwriters, some local, some out of towners, ALL unique in their expression and genre. As host I play every month, and to keep myself on my toes I have pledged to write a new song for every show. The format features each songwriter individually in the first set, then in the round for the second set. We are regularly blessed by a variety of side-men, brave souls who fearlessly accompany 3 different songwriters in one show. Wonderful improvisation is often witnessed, especially during the second set when all of the players are on stage together. The LCT serves a mean supper, with gourmet pizzas, salads and burgers (they grill a mean wild salmon burger folks). The show starts early, 7:30 PM, with the idea that you can stop by on your way home from work, have a nice bite to eat and take in some wonderful original music at the cozy and intimate Larkspur Cafe Theatre and be home by 10 PM.
