In Good Company

"From the moment I heard...about Jubilee Economics Ministries and the concept of living in a world that globally practices economic justice through sustainable systems, I was captured. I plan to spend my time creating music that fits with this paradigm of justice and right living, and commend JEM and its ideas to anyone who feels the emptiness of this 21st century life that is all about money, acquisition and power. It is enormously freeing to learn what is enough: to believe in and live a life committed to seeing that the people of the world - especially those in the so-called "first world" - live in peace, sharing their riches and resources."-Kate Wallace, songwriter and performing artist Santa Barbara, CA

I am proud to join Greg Greenway, Peter Gallway, Kate Wallace, Frank Goodman, Johnsmith, Richard Berman, Peg Bertch, Douglas Clegg, Caren Armstrong, Michael Lille, James McVay, Sally Barris and Emma's Revolution on this project. Kate Wallace and Doug Clegg have generously taken their own time and energy to produce this project, proceeds benefit JEM, an organization that advocates for economic and ecological sustainability.

Summer into Fall 2005

Festival Madness
Lark in the Morning
Play The Big Picture
Savasana Song for free

THE DETAILS:

Festival Madness
I have been a festival hopping fool this summer and really enjoyed seeing Donovan at the Kate Wolf Festival in Laytonville, CA. I think they had their largest crowd ever this year! It was bloody hot at the Wildflower Festival in Richardson TX and I was reminded why I was born with heat rash. Nevertheless I had a great time playing for the folks. Im just home from the Strawberry Festival where I ran into my old pal Dan Hicks. The weather was sublime and so was the pickin. Bela Fleck and Stanley Jordan? My pal Joe Craven described how hot their set was with his comment, Get a room! I have to say though, my most inspiring moment was during Steve Earles set. If you havent already, go check out his song (A poor boy fighting) A Rich Mans War.

Lark in the Morning
I recently took the opportunity to visit my friends Bill and Debbie Taylor, owners of the highly international Lark in the Morning music store based in beautiful Mendocino, CA. Visit them online to find any, and I mean ANY musical instrument and instruction on how to strum, strike, shake, pluck, or squeeze it.

TUESDAY October 11th
Larkspur, CA 7:30PM
$7

Dana Hubbard
Travis Jones with Chris Kee and Glenn Houston
Caren Armstrong with Kevin Russell

Stockton Blues meets California Cajun with yours truly as referee, y’all. This show has sprouted into a full grown picker fest. We have three quarters of the well known Houtson-Jones Band, and my good pal Kevin Russell joins me on guitar, dobro, and maybe even a little banjer. These boys are all dynamos in their own right, who knows what will happen when we all hit the stage for the “in the round portion of the evening. We had a GREAT show last month in the theatre proper, real lights and state of the art sound. Ya gotta check this venue out, folks. Wine, beer and beverage bar and light menu including yummy pizzas & salads. We're talking DINNER AND ART FOLKS!!!
