In addition to demonstrating her talent as a dynamic solo artist, Bay Area singer/songwriter Caren Armstrong uses her new, self-produced CD "Everything" to show off her skills as a collaborator. The mercurial songbird has decorated her finely honed chops with a vibrant palette that features the sonic colorings of Lloyd Maine's slinky dobro, Darol Anger's virtuosic fiddle, Joe Craven's exotic percussion, Robert Powell's soaring pedal steel, electric guitar and sitar, as well as Shirley Muramoto's soulful koto. Mix Houston Jones members Glenn Houston on guitar, Peter Tucker on drums, and Chris Kee on bass (joining Caren for the CD unveiling May 20th at the Freight and Salvage) and you have one sweet and spicy cup o' mojo. Twelve new songs and one select cover, the new CD promises to be "Everything" that one would expect from the small but mighty Caren Armstrong.
